1. Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Building

Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Building is the first place we recommend you visit in Prachinburi. This strikingly beautiful building was built in 1909 as a royal residence. It was the first building in Thailand to be constructed in the Baroque style of architecture. In 1994, the building was renovated and the Thai Traditional Medicine Museum showcasing Thai traditional medicine and famous folk medicine was set up inside the building.

2. Wat Kaeo Phichit

Wat Kaeo Phichit is an important temple in Prachinburi Province. Built in 1879, this temple is located on the Prachinburi River. Its unique ubosot or ordination hall was built in a combination of Thai, Chinese, Khmer, and European architectural styles. Not only that, but you will also find beautiful stucco paintings depicting stories from Ramayana and Buddhist mural paintings. It is one of the most popular temples for both locals and tourists alike.

3. The Great Bodhi Tree at Wat Si Maha Pho

The Great Bodhi Tree at Wat Si Maha Pho is an important site of pilgrimage for Buddhists in Thailand. This is believed to be the oldest bodhi tree in the entire country dating back to at least 2000 years. It is also said that the tree was born out of a branch from the original bodhi tree where Buddha gained enlightenment.

4. Chakrapong Reservoir

Chakrapong Reservoir is another place you should visit in Prachinburi. This is a large reservoir created under the royal initiative of King Rama IX. It was built as a water reservoir for farmers in the area to use during the dry season. The reservoir is located within the Khao Ito Forest Park. It is a popular place for locals because of the stunning scenery around it. You can do a variety of activities at the reservoir, including cycling and camping.

5. Khao Ito Waterfall 

Khao Ito Waterfall is another attraction located within the boundaries of the Khao Ito Forest Park. The stunning waterfall usually has flowing water throughout the year thanks to the small basins located in every alternating layer. This waterfall is a popular spot among locals and tourists alike.

6. Kaeng Hin Phoeng

If you are an adrenaline junkie, Kaeng Hin Phoeng is a place you should not miss out on. This is one of the most popular whitewater rafting facilities in the province. It is located within the Khao National Forest. The river rapids go on for a distance of more than 80 kilometers making it an exhilarating journey. The best time to visit this place is during the rainy season from June to October.

7. Land of Fireflies, Phrom Yothi Military Camp

The aptly names Land of fireflies is definitely one of the most surreal and beautiful places in Prachinburi. It is located within the 2nd Artillery Regiment, Queen's Guard Regiment, in the Phrom Yothi Military Camp. The camp is surrounded by forests. So, during the rainy season, the camp gets lit up with small glowing orbs of fireflies. 

8. The Verona at Tub Lan

The Verona at Tub Lan is a popular resort and tourist site inspired by Verona, Italy. It is located near Thap Lan National Park.  The resort is also home to a shopping center, a restaurant, an infinity pool, and even a flower-shaped cafe located in the middle of the flower garden. You can also indulge in activities like ATV driving, horse riding, and zip-lining.

9. Thap Lan National Park

Thap Lan National Park in Prachinburi is a hidden gem that we highly recommend. Spread over 863 sq. m. it is Thailand's second-largest national park. It is home to a number of wild animals, including tigers, elephants, buffaloes, tigers, as well as rare species including the green imperial pigeon. It is believed that the park may be home to one of the world's most endangered mammals, the kouprey, though one has not been sighted in nearly 30 years.
