1. Wat Phrathat Chae Haeng

Wat Phrathat Chae Haeng is the first place locals recommend you visit in Nan. This 14th-century Buddhist temple with its golden pagoda is an iconic temple as well as one of the most sacred places in Nan province. People from all over the country come here to get blessings.

2. Wat Phumin

One of the most beautiful temples in Nan, Wat Phumin is another place you need to visit. This is an old royal temple with more than 400 years of history. Wat Phumin is a unique temple, mainly due to its architecture. It was built to look like it is on the back of two snakes. The temple is also famous for its well-preserved mural paintings that depict the everyday life of the Thai Lue people.

3. Ming Muang Temple

Wat Ming Muang, another famous temple in Nan, is a must-visit place. This temple is the location of the Nan City Pillar Pillar. The city pillar is enshrined in a white porch in front of the temple's ubosot or ordination hall. There is also an exquisitely beautiful stucco pattern on the outer wall of the ubosot that showcases the skill of the Chiang Saen artisans.

4. Kuang Mueng Nan Walking Street

Kuang Mueng Nan Walking Street is a popular walking street in Nan. This walking street is located on Phakong Road next to Wat Phumin. It is a great place to experience the never-ending energy of Thailand. You will be able to purchase a wide variety of local products and souvenirs here. But the reason this walking street is famous is because of its delicious street food. The walking street is open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5 PM onwards.

5. Doi Samer Dao

Located within Si Nan National Park, Doi Samer Dao is one of the most beautiful and popular camping spots in Nan. It is situated on top of a mountain with stunning views all around. During the night, due to low light pollution, the stars shine brighter. While in the morning, clouds of mist roll around covering the mountain giving it an out-of-this-world vibe.

6. Sapan Village

Sapan Village is a small village in Nan province famous for its green hills, rice terrace fields, laidback atmosphere, and fresh air. It is a popular place for tourists who come here to relax and rejuvenate themselves away from the hustle and bustle. The stream of water flowing through the gorge has created a canyon due to erosion. During the dry season, visitors can walk around the gorge. However, during the rainy season, the stream becomes a river and a favorite watering hole for locals.r.

9. Route 1091

Route 1091 is a scenic mountain road in Nan that is part of a longer road trip route. Its winding roads across the mountains provide spectacular views which feel endless. There are very few people or cars on the road which means you get to enjoy the wonderful scenery at your own pace. There are a few small road stalls manned by locals from nearby villages where you can grab a bite to eat.

10. Doi Sakad
