Tran De District

Tran De District is a coastal district located in the southeast of Soc Trang Province, within the Mekong Delta region. With its strategic position facing the East Sea, Tran De is not only an important maritime economic hub but also a land rich in cultural and historical values. As the gateway to the sea of Soc Trang, Tran De is home to Tran De International Seaport, which is planned to become a key driver for regional economic growth.

Geographical Location

Covering a natural area of over 378 km², Tran De District borders the East Sea to the east, My Xuyen District to the west, Long Phu District and Soc Trang City to the north, and Cu Lao Dung District to the south. With a long coastline and a dense river network, Tran De holds great potential for seaport development, aquaculture.

Economic Features

The economy of Tran De is closely linked to the sea and waterways. The main sectors include:
