The 5 days Bac Ha, Sapa and Mu Cang Chai Tour is a scenic trip across some of Vietnam's most naturally stunning regions. You'll also get a chance to meet a few of the various ethnic minorities who inhabit the area.

Itinerary

Day 1

  • Depart from Hanoi 
  • Spend about 6 hours driving to Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province
  • Have lunch
  • Arrive at Bac Ha town in the afternoon
  • Embark on a 1.5-hour trek to visit Ban Pho Village 
  • Check in to a homestay for the night

Day 2

  • Have breakfast
  • Visit the hill tribe market
  • Shop for local products made by the minority tribes who live there 
  • Have lunch at a local restaurant 
  • Drive back down to Lao Cai City and onward to Sapa 
  • Check in to the hotel in Sapa

Day 3

  • Transfer to a trekking point in Muong Hoa Valley 
  • Enjoy a beautiful trek to visit a few villages of the Black Hmong tribes 
  • Get picked up and driven back to town for lunch
  • Spend the afternoon on a scenic drive to Mu Cang Chai
  • Check in to a stilt-house homestay nearby Mu Cang Chai town

Day 4

  • Go for a long scenic trek from Che Cu Nha to La Pan Tan 
  • Have a picnic lunch
  • Get picked up at the end of the trek
  • Transfer to Mu Cang Chai Eco-lodge for the night

Day 5

  • Head to Khau Phạ Pass
  • Embark on a 2-hour trek around the valley 
  • Visit a village of the Thai ethnic people
  • After the trek, have lunch at a local restaurant 
  • Drive back to Hanoi
