Thai citizens do not need a visa to enter Vietnam for a stay of 30 days. However, if the stay extends beyond 30 days they will be required to get a Vietnam visa.

How do Thai citizens apply for a Vietnam visa?

Thai citizens who wish to apply for a Vietnam visa can apply for a Vietnam visa online or through an embassy.

  1. Valid passport with at least 6 months validity 
  2. At least 2 blank pages in your passport
  3. Passport-sized photograph with a white background and no glasses
  4. Scan of personal biodata as written in the passport
  5. Other documents as required (applicable only if applying through an embassy)

How to get from the airport to the city center?

Hanoi:

To get to Hanoi from the airport, you either take the bus that runs daily (Express bus 86, 7, 17, and 90) and operates from 5:00 a.m till 11:00 p.m. or book a car pickup

Taking a bus is the cheapest way to get to the city but it's crowded and seats are limited. Between the two methods, a car pickup is an easier and more convenient method especially if you are arriving at an odd hour and have a lot of baggage.

Ho Chi Minh:

Ho Chi Minh city is a 30-45 minute ride away from Tan Son Nhat International Airport. To get to the city center you can take airport bus 109, 49 or public bus 152. You can also book a car through BDATrip’s airport shuttle service.

Da Nang city is just 3km or a 10-minute ride away from Da Nang International Airport.
