Vung Tau is a city in Southern Vietnam, about 125 km from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Its nearness to Saigon and its beauty and fresh air makes it a very popular destination for weekends. The city lies on a peninsula which is separated from the mainland by a stream called the Co May River. Vung Tau might not offer the best beach in Vietnam, but it closeness to Saigon and multiple unique attractions around the city will bring you a great day trip.

Morning
07:30 Depart from the meeting location or your hotel to Vung Tau city.
10:30 am Arriving in Vung Tau and enjoying free time at Thuy Van beach (Back beach). The beach features a long shore of 10 km laden with fine sands and white waves.
At noon, you will have Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon
After lunch, you will visit 32 meter-tall (105 feet) Jesus Christ Statue by walking up the stair of 847 steps. Considered one of the tallest statues of Christ in Asia, its outstretched arms span a little over 18.4 meters. It took about 20 years for the construction of the statue which completed in 1993. The adventurous are welcome to climb to the top of inside Christ’ arms and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of Vung Tau city.
The second destination is Thang Tam Temple (Whale Temple). The temple displays the bones which came to symbolize the protector deity of the coast. Now, each time a carcass of a whale washes ashore, the bones are ceremonially hauled to the mausoleum.
The next stop is Bach Dinh (also called White Palace), Vung Tau’s most popular mansion from the colonial era. The palace was constructed as a retreat for French Governor of Indochina Paul Doumer at the beginning of the 20th century.
Before heading back, you will visit Cape Nghinh Phong. The cape is a cliff which offers unobstructed views of Vung Tau City as well as the East Sea.
05:00 pm Start leaving Vung Tau. On the back way, take a short break at Long Thanh Cow Milk Rest-stop for buying traditional specialties and souvenirs.
07:30 pm Arrive back in Ho Chi Minh City. Your Vung Tau city 1-day tour ends here.
